स प्रयातो महाबाहु: समेषु मरुधन्वसु । ददर्शाथ मुनिश्रेष्ठमुत्तडकममितौजसम्‌,इस प्रकार मरुभूमिके समतल प्रदेशमें पहुँचकर महाबाहु श्रीकृष्णने अमिततेजस्वी मुनिश्रेष्ठ उत्तंकका दर्शन किया

vaiśampāyana uvāca | sa prayāto mahābāhuḥ sameṣu marudhanvasu | dadarśātha muniśreṣṭham uttaṅkam amitaujasam ||

毗湿摩波耶那说:那位臂力雄伟者继续前行,抵达沙漠中平坦的地带;在那里,他见到了诸牟尼之最胜——乌坦迦,这位先见者具无量的灵性光辉。此段情节铺陈了一场相会:王权与神圣之力与苦行者的权威相对而论,提醒听者——达摩不仅在战场上得以澄明,也在与说真理的圣贤相逢时显现。
