Uttanka’s Inquiry and Vāsudeva’s Adhyātma Exposition
Guṇa–Ritual–Immanence Teaching
स तं सम्पूज्य तेजस्वी मुनिं पृुथुललोचन: । पूजितस्तेन च तदा पर्यपृच्छदटनामयम्
sa taṁ sampūjya tejasvī muniṁ pṛthulocanaḥ | pūjitas tena ca tadā paryapṛcchad aṭanāmayam ||
他如法礼敬那位光辉的圣者;那位目光宽广、声名显赫者(克里希纳)也在当时受到了对方的回礼。随后,他以合乎正法的谦恭之心,询问圣者旅途中是否安泰——是否远离艰辛与纷扰。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic etiquette: honoring a sage and then inquiring about his welfare. Respectful reception (satkāra) and concern for a traveler’s well-being are presented as marks of righteous conduct.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Kṛṣṇa respectfully worships the sage Uttaṅka; the sage reciprocates with honor. After this mutual courtesy, Kṛṣṇa asks about Uttaṅka’s well-being and whether his travels have been free of difficulties.
