Kṛṣṇa’s Departure, Auspicious Omens, and the Opening of the Uttaṅka Dialogue (कृष्णप्रयाण-निमित्त-उत्तङ्कसंवाद-प्रारम्भः)
धर्मराजस्य भवनं जम्मतु: परमार्चितौ । यत्रास्ते स सहामात्यो धर्मराजो महाबल:
dharma-rājasya bhavanaṁ jagmatuḥ paramārcitau | yatrāste sa sahāmātyo dharma-rājo mahābalaḥ ||
毗湿摩波耶那说:那两位备受尊崇者——室利·奎师那与阿周那——用膳之后,夜尽天明,先行晨间仪轨,如诵行“桑迪亚礼敬”(sandhyā-vandana)等,遂同往法王由提施提罗的宫邸。彼处,那位以大力护持正法的君王与群臣同居共议;此景彰显正义王权的朝廷秩序——有谋议、有治理,亦有礼法与端肃。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dhārmic kingship: the righteous king is portrayed as residing with his ministers, emphasizing that power is exercised through counsel and orderly governance, and that honoured persons approach the royal household with propriety.
Two highly honoured figures go to King Yudhiṣṭhira’s residence, where he is staying together with his ministers, setting the stage for a courtly meeting within the framework of post-war administration and ethical rule.
