Brahmā’s Instruction on Elements and Faculties

बुद्धीन्द्रियाणि पठ्चाहु: पञ्च कर्मेन्द्रियाणि च । श्रोत्रादीन्‍्यपि पज्चाहुर्बुद्धियुक्तानि तत्त्वतः

buddhīndriyāṇi pañcāhuḥ pañca karmendriyāṇi ca | śrotrādīny api pañcāhur buddhiyuktāni tattvataḥ ||

风神伐由天说道:“人们宣说有五种认知之根,又有五种行动之根。实则,以听觉(耳)为首的五根称为认知诸根,因为它们与辨识相应;其余五根,与前者有别,名为行动诸根。”
