अश्रमवासिनां विषादः — Lament in Hastināpura after the Elders’ Forest Withdrawal

“सदा मंगलमय वचन बोलनेवाली श्रीकृष्णकी बहन भाविनी सुभद्रा सर्वदा अपने पुत्र अभिमन्युके वधसे संतप्त हो निरन्तर शोकमें ही डूबी रहती है ।।

vaiśampāyana uvāca | sadā maṅgalamayaṃ vacanaṃ bolanēvālī śrīkṛṣṇasya bhaginī bhāvinī subhadrā sarvadā sva-putra-abhimanyor vadha-santaptā nirantaraṃ śoke eva dūbī tiṣṭhati || iyaṃ ca bhūriśravaso bhāryā paramasammatā | bhartṛ-vyasana-śokārtā bhṛśaṃ śocati bhāvinī | ye bhūriśravāyāḥ paramapriyā patnī upaviṣṭā, yā pati-mṛtyu-śokena vyākulā atyanta-duḥkhe magnaṃ tiṣṭhati | asyā budhimān śvaśuraḥ kuruśreṣṭhaḥ bāhlikaś ca hataḥ | bhūriśravasaḥ pitā somadattaḥ api sva-pitrā saha tasmin mahāsamare vīragatiṃ prāptaḥ |

毗湿摩波耶那说道:苏跋陀罗——圣克里希那之妹,性情温柔,常吐吉祥之言——因其子阿毗曼纽之死而长久如被烈火灼烧,毫无间歇地沉没在悲恸之中。此处又坐着布胡利施罗婆斯那位最为钟爱的妻子,因夫亡之祸而心碎,哀号痛哭不已。她那睿智的公公巴赫利迦——俱卢族中最卓越者——亦已战死;而布胡利施罗婆斯之父娑摩达多,也与其父同在那场大决战中得遂英雄之终。
