Vṛṣādarbhī–Saptarṣi Dialogue
देवास्तु पितरो नाम निर्मिता ये स्वयम्भुवा । उष्णपा ये महाभागास्तेषां भाग: प्रकल्पित:
devāstu pitaro nāma nirmitā ye svayambhuvā | uṣṇapā ye mahābhāgāsteṣāṃ bhāgaḥ prakalpitaḥ ||
毗湿摩说道：“有些由自生者（Svayambhū，自生梵天）所化生的神圣存在，被称为‘祖灵’（Pitṛs）。这些福德尊贵的祖灵亦名‘饮热者’（Uṣṇapā）。自生者已在祭祖供养（śrāddha）中为他们敕定专属之分——昭示敬奉祖先乃达摩所许可、所确立之义务。”
