Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes attentive comprehension of sacred instruction: after narrating mythic origins (gold and Kārttikeya), the teacher urges the listener to grasp the teaching carefully, reflecting the dharmic value of receiving knowledge with focus and respect.

Vasiṣṭha concludes or summarizes a prior explanation about the origins of gold and the deity Kārttikeya, addressing the listener as a Bhārgava (“Bhṛgunandana”) and instructing him to understand the account thoroughly.
