Nṛga-upākhyāna: Brāhmaṇa-sva and the Consequence of Misappropriated Gift-Cattle (कृकलास-रूपे नृगोपाख्यानम्)

अन्न वै प्रथम द्रव्यमन्नं श्रीक्ष परा मता । अन्नात्‌ प्राण: प्रभवति तेजो वीर्य बल॑ तथा,अन्न प्रथम द्रव्य है। वह उत्तम लक्ष्मीका स्वरूप माना गया है। अन्नसे ही प्राण, तेज, वीर्य और बलकी पुष्टि होती है

anna vai prathamaṁ dravyam annaṁ śrīkṣa parā matā | annāt prāṇaḥ prabhavati tejo vīryaṁ balaṁ tathā ||

毗湿摩说道:食物确为诸物之首,被视为最上等的福祉与吉祥(Śrī)。由食物而生并赖以维系者,有生命之气息、光辉、精力、勇健与力量。因此,敬重并施与食物被宣示为首要的伦理之责,因为它护持生命,也护持人得以奉行达摩的诸般能力。
