यावत: साधुधर्मान्‌ वै सन्त: संवर्धयन्त्युत । सर्वस्वैश्वापि भर्तव्या नरा ये बहुकारिण:

yāvataḥ sādhudharmān vai santaḥ saṃvardhayanty uta | sarvasvaiś cāpi bhartavyā narā ye bahukāriṇaḥ ||

毗湿摩说道:只要贤善之人仍在护持并弘扬正法的诸般形态,那么这等人物——对国王与国土有大裨益者——即使倾尽全部财物,也应当加以供养与维持。他们的资养并非施舍,而是义务;因为他们的存在本身就能巩固民间的道德与秩序。

Educational Q&A

A ruler (and society) must materially support those virtuous people who actively promote and expand righteous conduct; even great expense is justified because their work sustains dharma and benefits the kingdom.
