Śakra–Śambara Saṃvāda: Brāhmaṇa-sevā, Anasūyā, and Vāg-bala (शक्रशम्बरसंवादः)

कृषिगोरक्ष्यमप्येके भैक्ष्यमन्ये5प्यनुछ्िता: । चौराश्नान्येडनृताश्चान्ये तथान्ये नटनर्तका:

bhīṣma uvāca | kṛṣigorakṣyam apy eke bhaikṣyam anye 'py anuṣṭhitāḥ | caurāś cānye 'nṛtāś cānye tathānye naṭanartakāḥ ||

毗湿摩说道:“有些人(即便本应依更高戒律而活者)却以耕作与牧牛为生;有些靠乞食度日。有人走上盗窃之途,有人习于虚诳,还有人以伶人、舞者为业。此乃正当生计之衰败与紊乱的明证:人们弃置所规定的本分,而以可疑之法求存。”
