शक्र उवाच चण्डालयोनौ जातेन नावाप्यं वै कथंचन । अन्यं काम॑ वृणीष्व त्वं मा वृथा तेडस्त्वयं श्रम:
śakra uvāca | caṇḍālayonau jātena na avāpyaṃ vai kathaṃcana | anyaṃ kāmaṃ vṛṇīṣva tvaṃ mā vṛthā te ’stu ayaṃ śramaḥ ||
释迦（因陀罗）说道：“马唐伽啊，生于旃陀罗之胎者，无论如何都不能获得婆罗门之位。故当另择所愿之恩赐，莫使你的苦修徒然。”
