Tīrtha-vaṃśa Upadeśa: Instruction on the Fruits of Sacred Waters
क्रियमाणे5पवर्गे च यो द्विजो भरतर्षभ । न व्याहरति यद्युक्त तस्याधर्मो गवानृतम्
kriyamāṇe ’pavarge ca yo dvijo bharatarṣabha | na vyāharati yadyuktaṃ tasyādharmo gavānṛtam ||
毗湿摩说道:“噢,婆罗多族中的雄牛啊,当为求得‘阿婆婆伽’(解脱)而行的功德圣仪正在进行之时,若一位二次生者(dvija)不诵出合乎礼制、应当宣说的词句,那么这份缺失便成了他的非正法——其虚妄之重,犹如就一头牛而发虚言。”
भीष्म उवाच
In sacred contexts, especially rites aimed at spiritual uplift, silence or failure to recite what is duly prescribed is itself a breach of dharma; ethical responsibility includes speaking the right words at the right time.
Bhīṣma, instructing Yudhiṣṭhira in the Anuśāsana Parva’s dharma teachings, emphasizes the moral weight of correct ritual speech: neglecting proper utterance during a liberation-oriented rite is counted as serious wrongdoing.
