The verse frames devotion as inseparable from ethical discipline: Śiva is praised not only as cosmic cause (avyakta-yoni) but also as the exemplar of inner victory—conquering desire and mastering the senses—implying that true worship aligns with self-control and inward purification.
Vāyudeva begins a concise enumeration of Śiva’s names/epithets. The listed names highlight both metaphysical stature (rooted in the Unmanifest) and yogic-protective functions (guardian of the ‘cave’ for inward-entering seekers), while emphasizing triumph over inner enemies like desire.
