अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)

इति तण्डिस्तपोयोगात्‌ परमात्मानमव्ययम्‌ | चिन्तयित्वा महात्मानमिदमाह सुविस्मित:,इस तरह तण्डिने तपस्यामें संलग्न होकर अविनाशी परमात्मा महामना शिवका चिन्तन करके अत्यन्त विस्मित हो इस प्रकार कहा था--

iti taṇḍis tapoyogāt paramātmānam avyayam | cintayitvā mahātmānam idam āha suvismitaḥ ||

于是,檀提(Taṇḍi)沉浸于苦行与瑜伽定观之中,默念那不坏的至上自性——大魂的湿婆主。满怀惊异,他便说出了如下言辞。
