vāyur uvāca | śṛṇu mūḍha guṇān kāṁścid brāhmaṇānāṁ mahātmanām | ye tvayā kīrtitā rājan tebhyo ’tha brāhmaṇo varaḥ ||
风神伐由说道:“听着,愚迷之人!我将述说大心婆罗门的若干德行。大王啊,你方才称颂的那些人——与之相比,婆罗门更为尊胜。”
अजुन उवाच
The verse asserts the ethical and spiritual primacy of the ideal Brāhmaṇa—grounded in virtue and Vedic-dharmic authority—over other praised persons, framing moral excellence as superior to mere power or elemental might.
Vāyu addresses a king and begins an instructive discourse: he asks the listener to pay attention and announces that he will enumerate certain virtues of great Brāhmaṇas, stating that the Brāhmaṇa is superior to those figures the king has just lauded.
