rogārto mucyate rogād baddho mucyeta bandhanāt | bhayān mucyeta bhītastu mucyetāpanna āpadaḥ ||
The verse affirms the possibility of deliverance from major forms of human distress—illness, imprisonment, fear, and calamity—encouraging steadiness and trust that adverse conditions are not permanent and can be overcome through right means and support aligned with dharma.
In Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma continues his instruction on dharma and right conduct. Here he states a general maxim about relief from afflictions, functioning as reassurance within his broader ethical counsel to Yudhiṣṭhira.
