यजनं याजनं चैव तथा दानप्रतिग्रहौ । अध्यापनं चाध्ययनं षट्कर्मा धर्मभाग्‌ द्विज:

yajanaṃ yājanaṃ caiva tathā dāna-pratigrahau | adhyāpanaṃ cādhyayanaṃ ṣaṭkarmā dharma-bhāg dvijaḥ ||

圣摩醯湿伐罗说道:“自作祭祀、为他人主持祭祀、施与、受施、教授吠陀、研习吠陀——此为六业。二次生者(婆罗门)若安住于此六业,便得正当分有法(Dharma),以严谨的学习、教导与有度的施受,维系社会之伦理与祭仪秩序。”
