The verse frames a sudden disaster in a sacred, resource-rich forest, implicitly highlighting dharma as timely, compassionate action—protecting beings and preserving what sustains life when crisis arises.
Nārada describes a beautiful forest—full of śāla and sarala trees, fine sandalwood, and luminous medicinal herbs—now engulfed by fire and burning in all directions.
