स्वाध्यायनिरता विप्रास्तथा स्वस्त्ययने नृणाम्‌ । रक्षणे क्षत्रियं प्राहुर्वैंश्यं पुष्टयर्थमेव च

svādhyāyaniratā viprās tathā svastyayane nṛṇām | rakṣaṇe kṣatriyaṃ prāhur vaiśyaṃ puṣṭyartham eva ca ||

毗湿摩说道:“婆罗门勤于自习吠陀(svādhyāya),并行诸为众人招致吉祥之仪轨。刹帝利被称为以护卫为志。吠舍则为滋养、维系社群而存在。”
