Gārhasthya-dharma: Vāsudeva–Pṛthivī-saṃvāda
Householder Duties and Daily Offerings
इदमस्ति गृहे महमिति नित्यं निवेदयेत् । ते यद् वदेयुस्तत् कुर्यादिति धर्मों विधीयते
idam asti gṛhe mama iti nityaṃ nivedayet | te yad vadeyus tat kuryād iti dharmo vidhīyate |
风神曰：“当常以谦辞申明：‘此物在我家中。’凡诸长者或来宾所言所命，当依之而行——此即达摩之法。就伦理而言，凡不常住于我家者，皆称为阿提提（atithi，客）。故对师长、父亲、可信之友与来宾，当以家中所有奉上并请其受纳；继而依其所示而行。以此待客之道、敬顺之心与对正当教导的遵从，达摩得以维系。”

Dharma is fulfilled by habitual hospitality and deference: one should openly offer what is available at home to teacher, father, trusted friend, and guest, and then carry out whatever they appropriately instruct.
