ततो्र्जुन: प्रत्यविध्यदापतन्तं शितै: शरै: । कर्ण वैकर्तनं श्रीमान् विकृष्प बलवद् धनु:,तब तेजस्वी अर्जुनने अपने धनुषको जोरसे खींचकर अपनी ओर वेगसे आते हुए सूर्यपुत्र कर्णको कई तीक्ष्ण बाण मारे
tato 'rjunaḥ pratyavidhyad āpatantaṁ śitaiḥ śaraiḥ | karṇaṁ vaikartanaṁ śrīmān vikṛṣya balavad dhanuḥ ||
随后,光辉的阿周那猛力开弓,趁太阳之子、号为“瓦伊迦尔塔那”的迦尔那疾冲而来之际,以多支锐箭贯穿其身。
वैशम्पायन उवाच

As Karṇa charges toward him, Arjuna draws his bow strongly and counters by piercing Karṇa with sharp arrows, marking a direct martial exchange between two famed archers.
