भृशं च ताड्यमाना वै न जगामाश्रमात् ततः । अर्जुन] उस समय कल्याणमयी नन्दिनी डकराती हुई महर्षि वसिष्ठके सामने आकर खड़ी हो गयी और उन्हींकी ओर मुँह करके देखने लगी। उसके ऊपर जोर-जोरसे मार पड़ रही थी, तो भी वह आश्रमसे अन्यत्र नहीं गयी ।। २३ ई ।। वसिष्ठ उवाच शृणोमि ते रवं भद्रे विनदन्त्या: पुनः पुनः,वसिष्ठजी बोले--भद्रे! तुम बार-बार क्रन्दन कर रही हो। मैं तुम्हारा आर्तनाद सुनता हूँ, परंतु क्या करूँ? कल्याणमयी नन्दिनि! विश्वामित्र तुम्हें बलपूर्वक हर ले जा रहे हैं। इसमें मैं क्या कर सकता हूँ। मैं एक क्षमाशील ब्राह्मण हूँ
vasiṣṭha uvāca | śṛṇomi te ravaṃ bhadre vinadantyāḥ punaḥ punaḥ |
婆悉吒说道：“温良者啊，我听见你一声又一声的哀鸣。然而我能做什么呢？吉祥的难陀尼——毗湿瓦密多正以强力将你带走。此事之中，我又有何权能？我只是一个忍让的婆罗门。”
