धृतराष्ट्र–दुर्योधन संवादः
Vāraṇāvata-vivāsana-nīti: Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Duryodhana’s Policy Dialogue
नादेवसत्त्वो विनयेत् कुरूनस्त्रे महाबलान् | इति संचिन्त्य गाड़्रेयस्तदा भरतसत्तम:
Vaiśampāyana uvāca | nādevasattvo vinayet kurūn astre mahābalān | iti saṃcintya gāṅgreyas tadā bharatasattamaḥ ||
毗湿摩思忖道:“若非具足如天神般的威力,便不能在兵器之学上妥善教导这些强盛的俱卢。”如此沉思后,婆罗多族中最卓越者——恒河之子毗湿摩——决意寻访一位绝伦之师,使诸王子在武学纪律中臻于出类拔萃的境地。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Powerful and potentially harmful knowledge like weapon-science must be entrusted only to a teacher of exceptional capability and self-mastery; competence and moral responsibility are prerequisites for transmitting force.
Vaiśampāyana narrates Bhīṣma’s reflection that ordinary instructors are insufficient for the mighty Kuru princes; therefore Bhīṣma resolves to find a supremely qualified martial preceptor to elevate their skill.
