Suta Goswami (narrating the Purana tradition to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It links worship to kāla (sacred time): the Sun’s monthly forms regulate seasons and ritual timing, helping the devotee perform Shiva-puja in harmony with cosmic order.
By showing ordered governance through named powers of the Sun, it implies Shiva as Pati—the transcendent Lord—under whom cosmic functions (including time and heat) operate as regulated manifestations.
Observance of month-based discipline—choosing vrata, dana, and puja timings by seasonal heat and solar governance—supporting Pashupata-style self-regulation of the pashu (individual soul) under kāla.
