सर्गः प्राधानिकः पश्चात् प्राकृतो वैकृतानि च अण्डस्यास्य च सम्भूतिर् अण्डस्यावरणाष्टकम्
sargaḥ prādhānikaḥ paścāt prākṛto vaikṛtāni ca aṇḍasyāsya ca sambhūtir aṇḍasyāvaraṇāṣṭakam
先有从原质(Pradhāna)而起的主因造化(Prādhānika),继而为自然造化(Prākṛta)与变异造化(Vaikṛta);随后是此宇宙卵(brahmāṇḍa)的显现,以及包裹卵体的八重围护。

By classifying creation into prādhānika, prākṛta, and vaikṛta stages and describing the brahmāṇḍa with its coverings, the verse frames the cosmos as a layered manifestation—encouraging the devotee to worship the Linga as the transcendent Pati beyond all created layers.
Shiva-tattva is implied as prior to and independent of Pradhāna/Prakṛti and their evolutes; in Shaiva Siddhanta terms, these creations belong to Pāśa (the objective order), while Shiva as Pati remains the sovereign cause and liberator who is not enclosed by the brahmāṇḍa’s coverings.
The verse points more to contemplative cosmology than a specific rite: in Pāśupata-oriented practice, such reflection supports viveka (discrimination) between Pāśa (created categories and coverings) and Pati (Shiva), deepening inner Linga-dhyāna rather than prescribing a puja step.
