Diti’s Puṁsavana Vow, Indra’s Intervention, and the Birth of the Maruts
atha kaśyapa-dāyādān daiteyān kīrtayāmi te yatra bhāgavataḥ śrīmān prahrādo balir eva ca
Daityas are the descendants of Diti through Kaśyapa. This verse introduces their line, highlighting that even among them appeared exalted devotees like Prahlāda and great personalities like Bali Mahārāja.
To show that devotion to Bhagavān is not limited by birth—within the Daitya dynasty arose the renowned bhāgavata Prahlāda and the celebrated Bali Mahārāja, both central to major Bhagavata narratives.
Spiritual excellence is not determined by family background or labels; sincere bhakti can manifest anywhere, and one should honor devotion wherever it appears.
