The Yadu–Vṛṣṇi–Andhaka Genealogies and the Purpose of Kṛṣṇa’s Advent
सुमित्रार्जुनपालादीन् समीकात्तु सुदामनी । आनक: कर्णिकायां वै ऋतधामाजयावपि ॥ ४४ ॥
sumitrārjunapālādīn samīkāt tu sudāmanī ānakaḥ karṇikāyāṁ vai ṛtadhāmā-jayāv api
Samīka由妻Sudāmanī生子:Sumitra、Arjunapāla等。Ānaka王由妻Karṇikā生二子:Ṛtadhāmā与Jaya。
This verse continues the Yadu-vaṁśa genealogy, naming children born to Sudāmanī from Samīka, and sons born to Karṇikā from Ānaka.
The Purāṇa preserves sacred lineage (vaṁśānucarita), connecting historical kings and families to the broader flow of dharma and ultimately to Krishna’s appearance and pastimes.
By seeing the Bhagavatam as a continuous sacred history—cultivating śraddhā (faith) that Krishna’s līlā is rooted in real lineages and that devotion is carried through generations.
