Yudhiṣṭhira’s Rājasūya Resolve and the Slaying of Jarāsandha
तयोरेवं प्रहरतो: समशिक्षाबलौजसो: । निर्विशेषमभूद् युद्धमक्षीणजवयोर्नृप ॥ ३९ ॥
tayor evaṁ praharatoḥ sama-śikṣā-balaujasoḥ nirviśeṣam abhūd yuddham akṣīṇa-javayor nṛpa
大王啊,如此交击的二人训练、力量与耐力皆相等,战斗遂无分胜负。其迅疾不减,仍不间断地继续厮斗。
Some ācāryas include the following two verses in the text of this chapter, and Śrīla Prabhupāda has also translated them in Kṛṣṇa:
It describes their combat as evenly matched—equal in training, strength, and prowess—because neither warrior’s speed or vigor diminished during the exchange.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī is narrating the Jarāsandha episode to King Parīkṣit, addressing him directly while describing the intense, balanced duel.
It highlights disciplined preparation and steady endurance—when two sides are equally trained, consistent effort and stamina become decisive.
