Uddhava Sent to Vraja: Consolation to Nanda-Yaśodā and the Gopīs’ Separation
दावाग्नेर्वातवर्षाच्च वृषसर्पाच्च रक्षिता: । दुरत्ययेभ्यो मृत्युभ्य: कृष्णेन सुमहात्मना ॥ २० ॥
dāvāgner vāta-varṣāc ca vṛṣa-sarpāc ca rakṣitāḥ duratyayebhyo mṛtyubhyaḥ kṛṣṇena su-mahātmanā
我们曾从林火、狂风暴雨,以及牛魔与蛇魔等——那些几乎不可逾越的致命危难中——被那位大圣者克里希纳所护救。
This verse says Kṛṣṇa saved His people from seemingly unavoidable deaths—forest fire, fierce storms, and deadly enemies like the bull and serpent—showing His direct guardianship over devotees.
In the context of Uddhava’s visit to Vṛndāvana, Śukadeva recalls how the Vrajavāsīs repeatedly experienced Kṛṣṇa’s protection during His pastimes, strengthening their love and dependence on Him.
Cultivate steady devotion and remembrance of Kṛṣṇa as protector; even when dangers feel overwhelming, bhakti trains the heart to rely on divine shelter rather than fear.
