Kṛṣṇa Enters Mathurā: City Splendor, Devotees’ Reception, and the Washerman’s Fate
वसित्वात्मप्रिये वस्त्रे कृष्ण: सङ्कर्षणस्तथा । शेषाण्यादत्त गोपेभ्यो विसृज्य भुवि कानिचित् ॥ ३९ ॥
vasitvātma-priye vastre kṛṣṇaḥ saṅkarṣaṇas tathā śeṣāṇy ādatta gopebhyo visṛjya bhuvi kānicit
奎师那与桑卡尔沙那(巴拉罗摩)穿上令他们心悦的成对衣裳;随后奎师那把余下的衣物分给牧童们,并将一些散落在地上。
It describes Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma dressing in pleasing garments, then taking the remaining clothes to share with the cowherd boys, discarding some—showing Their playful līlā and generosity toward companions.
In this Mathurā līlā, the Lord overturns arrogance and transforms ordinary items into service; after accepting suitable garments, He favors His associates (the gopas) by giving them the remainder.
Offer what you have in devotion, accept what supports dharma and service, and share the rest generously—turning personal gain into community upliftment and remembrance of God.
