Akrūra’s Prayers (Akrūra-stuti): The Lord as Cause of Causes, Virāṭ, and the Goal of All Paths
अहं चात्मात्मजागारदारार्थस्वजनादिषु । भ्रमामि स्वप्नकल्पेषु मूढ: सत्यधिया विभो ॥ २४ ॥
ahaṁ cātmātmajāgāra- dārārtha-svajanādiṣu bhramāmi svapna-kalpeṣu mūḍhaḥ satya-dhiyā vibho
噢全能的主啊,我也如此迷妄,把身体、儿女、家宅、妻室、财物与眷属当作真实,然而它们其实如梦一般虚幻。
This verse explains that identification with body, children, home, spouse, wealth, and relatives is like a dream—appearing real only due to delusion—so one should seek the Lord beyond ‘I’ and ‘mine’.
In their prayers, the Śrutis confess the conditioned soul’s confusion under māyā and glorify Kṛṣṇa as the supreme reality who can free one from false identification and attachment.
Treat possessions and relationships with responsibility but without ego-based ownership, and regularly re-center life on devotion and remembrance of God to avoid being trapped in ‘I’ and ‘mine’ thinking.
