The Deliverance of Nalakūvara and Maṇigrīva
Yamala-Arjuna Līlā Prelude and Culmination
yadṛcchayā ca devarṣir bhagavāṁs tatra kaurava apaśyan nārado devau kṣībāṇau samabudhyata
It is said:
This verse introduces Nārada seeing two intoxicated demigods, setting up the teaching that intoxication blinds one to propriety and invites corrective consequences under dharma.
Nārada arrived by providence and, understanding their intoxicated state, became the instrument through which their pride would be corrected and their eventual deliverance arranged.
Seek saintly association and self-awareness: when habits like intoxication cloud judgment, guidance from sādhus and restraint help restore dignity, humility, and spiritual focus.
