Mṛkaṇḍa is a great sage born in the lineage being described by Śukadeva Gosvāmī; he is renowned as the father of the celebrated sage Mārkaṇḍeya.
These genealogies connect kings and sages to the cosmic order of dharma and show how saintly lineages and Vedic culture are transmitted through generations.
They remind us that spiritual heritage is protected through responsible family life, honoring elders and teachers, and keeping devotion and dharma central across generations.
