Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Tantra","secondary_vidya":"Mantra","practical_application":"Ritual applications for influence and success: empowered touch for vāśya, tila-homa for siddhi, and seven-times consecrated food for sustained prosperity.","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Vāśya-sparśa, tila-homa, and saptābhimantrita-anna for śrī","lookup_keywords":["sparśa-vāśya","tila-homa","siddhi","saptābhimantrita-anna","śrī"],"quick_summary":"The verse enumerates three applied rites—touch, sesame homa, and sevenfold-mantra food consecration—aimed at control, accomplishment, and enduring prosperity."}

Concept: Material results (śrī, siddhi) are linked to saṃskāra—objects and actions become ‘charged’ through mantra and homa, then function as carriers of intention.

Application: For benefic use: perform tila-homa with purity and restraint; consecrate food with a fixed count (seven) and share as prasāda to align prosperity with dharma.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

FAQs

It teaches practical mantra-ritual applications: achieving vaśīkaraṇa (influence/subjugation) through empowered touch (sparśa), attaining success through tila-homa (sesame oblations), and securing prosperity by eating food sanctified via seven recitations (saptābhimantrita anna).

Alongside theology and myths, the Agni Purana preserves applied ritual technologies—homa procedures, mantra-consecration, and efficacy-claims (siddhi/phala)—showing its wide scope across practical religious disciplines.

The verse frames prosperity and success as outcomes of disciplined mantra and fire-ritual observance; sanctifying food by mantra links daily sustenance to ritual purity and auspicious karma (śrī), reinforcing the idea that ordinary acts become spiritually potent through consecration.
