Related Themes: Agni Purana 299 (hikkā/śvāsa/kāsa remedy clusters)
Ayurvedic therapeutics: it lists hikkāghna (anti-hiccup) drugs and prescribes a practical mode of administration—licking a three-drug combination mixed with honey (lehya/linctus).
It shows the text functioning as a compendium: alongside theology, it preserves applied medical knowledge—drug nomenclature (dravya-nāma), indications (hikkā), and dosage-form guidance (honey-based lehya).
While primarily medical, the Purāṇic framing treats health-preserving remedies as supportive of dharma—maintaining bodily steadiness for worship, recitation, and disciplined living.
