Related Themes: Agni Purana 291 (Dhūpa-yoga / Bheshaja-kalpa)
It teaches an Ayurvedic-ritual dhūpa (medicated fumigation) formula—using devadāru, vacā, māṁsī, guggulu, hiṅgu, and sarṣapa—intended to strengthen the person and counter poison while also mitigating graha-afflictions.
Alongside theology and rites, the Agni Purana preserves applied health-knowledge: practical materia medica and protective fumigation procedures, showing how Purāṇic literature integrates Ayurveda, ritual hygiene, and remedial rites.
By prescribing dhūpa for graha-śānti and viṣa-śamana, the verse frames health and protection as both a medical and purificatory act—removing harmful influences while restoring vitality (bala) through disciplined remedial practice.
