Related Themes: Agni Purana 290 (pūjā-vidhi and gaja-śānti ritual apparatus)
It prescribes a sequence within a homa/pujā: worship a focal ritual item (ḍiṇḍima) with standard upacāras (fragrance, garland, unguent), complete the fire oblation, and conclude with dāna—giving a rasa-filled kalaśa to a brāhmaṇa.
It exemplifies the Agni Purana’s procedural detail in ritual science (pujā-homa), combining upacāra protocol, the act of hutā (fire offering), and prescribed charity (dāna) as a complete liturgical workflow.
By pairing homa with respectful worship and a concluding gift to a qualified recipient (dvija), the rite is framed as both purification and merit-making, ensuring the ritual’s completion (saṃpūrṇatā) through dāna.
