Ayurvedic chikitsā: a practical remedy for śūla (colic)—drink ember-roasted rock-salt with hot water, or use a mixture of rock-salt, hiṅgu, pippalī, and harītakī.
It shows the Purana functioning as a compendium beyond theology—preserving concise, formula-like medical instructions (bhaisajya) alongside other sciences, a hallmark of the Agni Purana’s encyclopedic scope.
By supporting health and restoring digestive fire (agni) through disciplined remedies, the instruction indirectly aids purity of body and steadiness for dharma, worship, and daily duties.
