Concept: External cleanliness (prokṣaṇa) is paired with internal/sonic consecration (mantra-abhimantraṇa); repetition (eka/dvi) calibrates ritual intensity.

Application: Standardize pūjā setup: keep vessels covered to prevent contamination; use sanctified water and controlled mantra repetitions for consistent ritual outcomes.

FAQs

It teaches pātra-śuddhi and abhimantraṇa: ritual vessels are cloth-wrapped, placed correctly, sprinkled with bilva-infused sanctified water, and then empowered by mantra recitation once or twice.

It preserves highly procedural, practitioner-focused details of pūjā and temple/household ritual technology—showing the Agni Purana’s coverage beyond myth into applied liturgy and mantra-based consecration methods.

Purifying and mantra-charging the vessels is understood to remove ritual impurity (aśauca/doṣa), make the offering-fit instruments (yajñārha), and ensure the rite yields its intended merit (puṇya) without obstruction.
