The Birth of Mahiṣāsura and the Goddess’s Victory as Mahīṣamardinī

तत्र चेन्दुमती नाम दैत्यकन्या अतिरूपिणी । सा दृष्टा तेन मुनिना विवस्त्रा मज्जती जले ॥

tatra cendumati nāma daitya-kanyā atirūpiṇī | sā dṛṣṭā tena muninā vivastrā majjatī jale ||

Tại đó có một thiếu nữ thuộc dòng dõi Daitya tên là Cendumatī, dung sắc tuyệt trần. Vị hiền triết ấy đã thấy nàng đang tắm dưới nước trong tình trạng không y phục.
