Varaha Purana 13.27 — Adhyaya 13, Shloka 27

The Genealogy of the Pitṛs and the Determination of Śrāddha Times

FAQs

It reflects a Purāṇic systematization of ritual relations across cosmic realms (Bhūrloka and Svargaloka), integrating cosmology with the social-ritual vocabulary of yājya (eligible recipient of offerings).

No specific terrestrial geographic site is named here; the verse uses cosmological realms (Bhūrloka and Svargaloka) rather than a place identifiable on historical maps.

A philosophical instruction on ordered reciprocity and ritual propriety: offerings and honors are to be directed according to eligibility (yājyatā) within a structured cosmological framework.
