Varaha Purana 116.9 — Adhyaya 116, Shloka 9

An Exposition on the Causes of Happiness and Suffering

उचितेनोपचारेण दुःखमोक्षविनाशनम् ।। अहङ्कारावृतो नित्यं नरो मोहॆन चावृतः

ucitenopacāreṇa duḥkhamokṣavināśanam || ahaṅkārāvṛto nityaṃ naro mohena cāvṛtaḥ

Nhờ sự phụng sự và nghi lễ đúng mực, khổ đau được diệt trừ và đạt mokṣa (giải thoát). Nhưng con người luôn bị che phủ bởi ngã mạn và cũng bị bao bọc bởi mê vọng (moha).
