तथा भवान् सुरैः सार्धं समं देवेन शलिना वस त्वं पुण्डरीकाक्ष मन्नामव्यञ्जके ऽच्युत इत्येवमुक्तस्तेनाहं राज्ञा बाढमुवाच तम्
tathā bhavān suraiḥ sārdhaṃ samaṃ devena śalinā vasa tvaṃ puṇḍarīkākṣa mannāmavyañjake 'cyuta ityevamuktastenāhaṃ rājñā bāḍhamuvāca tam
Cũng vậy, xin Ngài cùng chư thiên an trú, ngang hàng với vị Thần linh rực rỡ ấy. Ôi Đấng mắt như hoa sen (Puṇḍarīkākṣa), ôi Acyuta, xin ngự tại nơi mang danh ta. Được vị vua ấy thưa như vậy, ta đáp lại ông: “Được, cứ như thế.”

Even an asura-king, when grounded in truthfulness and gifting (dāna) and when he surrenders without resentment, becomes worthy of divine favor. The verse highlights reciprocity: Bali’s humility and offering culminate in the Lord’s consent (“bāḍham”).
Primarily Vamśānucarita/Carita (narrative of a prominent king’s conduct and its consequences) within the broader daitya–deva cycle; it is not sarga/pratisarga, but a didactic royal episode embedded in the purāṇic history stream.
“Dwelling in the place that bears my name” symbolizes sanctification of the surrendered ego: Bali’s ‘name’ becomes a marker of transformed identity—power redirected into devotion. The Lord’s acceptance underscores that divine presence is drawn to dharma and sincerity, not birth or faction.
