सामगेषु समुत्पन्नस्तस्मान्मगध उच्यते । ऐंद्रेण हविषा चापि हविः पृक्तं बृहस्पतिः

Transliteration

sāmageṣu samutpannastasmānmagadha ucyate | aiṃdreṇa haviṣā cāpi haviḥ pṛktaṃ bṛhaspatiḥ

Translation

Vì ông phát sinh giữa những người tụng ca Sāma, nên được gọi là “Magadha”. Và Bṛhaspati cũng đã hòa trộn lễ vật cúng (havis) với phần dâng hiến dành cho Indra.
