ईश्वर उवाच । ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि यत्र जांबवती नदी । पुरा जांबवतीनाम विष्णोर्या महिषीप्रिया । अपृच्छदर्जुनं साध्वी वद वार्तां कुरू द्वह
īśvara uvāca | tato gacchenmahādevi yatra jāṃbavatī nadī | purā jāṃbavatīnāma viṣṇoryā mahiṣīpriyā | apṛcchadarjunaṃ sādhvī vada vārtāṃ kurū dvaha
Īśvara phán: “Rồi đó, hỡi Đại Nữ Thần, hãy đi đến nơi sông Jāmbavatī chảy qua. Thuở xưa, bậc hiền phụ tên Jāmbavatī—vương hậu yêu dấu của Viṣṇu—đã hỏi Arjuna rằng: ‘Xin hãy nói tin tức; hãy nói thật, chớ che giấu.’”
