Īśvara (Śiva) (contextual attribution within Prabhāsa-kṣetra Māhātmya dialogues)
Tirtha: Vicitreśvara
Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahādevī (Pārvatī)
Scene: A pilgrim approaches the Vicitreśvara liṅga, offers water, bilva, incense, and lamps; the liṅga shines; dark ‘sin’ motifs dissolve into light; the devotee’s face shifts from worry to serenity, indicating freedom from sorrowful rebirth.
Darśana (seeing the deity) and proper pūjā performed according to vidhi are portrayed as powerful means for sin-removal and freedom from sorrow.
Prabhāsa-kṣetra, specifically the Vicitreśvara context within the Prabhāsa-kṣetra Māhātmya.
Worship (pūjā) should be done ‘vidhānena’—according to prescribed ritual procedure—emphasizing correctness and devotion.
