Brāhmaṇa sages addressing Vasiṣṭha (deduced from ‘dvijāḥ ... abruvan’ in the previous verse)
Type: river
Scene: Brāhmaṇas address Vasiṣṭha, gesturing toward a radiant river-personification; the river is honored as having been ‘brought into the world’ by him, and the proclamation of her new fame as his ‘daughter’ is made solemnly.
When sacred resources are guided into the human realm for dharma, their sanctity becomes inseparable from the sage who served as the instrument.
The river-tīrtha identified with Gomatī, whose sanctified presence in the world is attributed to Vasiṣṭha.
None directly; the verse explains a title/renown arising from the river’s descent.
