Skanda (deduced from Nāgarakhaṇḍa Tīrthamāhātmya narration style)
Type: kshetra
Listener: a brāhmaṇa interlocutor (dvija-śreṣṭha addressed in the next verse)
Scene: A pilgrim offers arghya and flowers to a radiant Sūrya presence at a sanctified spot; multiple solar discs or twelvefold rays subtly indicate ‘twelve crores of Sūryas’ as an infinite multiplicity condensed into one shrine-space.
A tīrtha concentrates spiritual potency: worship performed there is said to yield immense merit, equivalent to vast acts of devotion elsewhere.
Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra, where solar worship is declared extraordinarily fruitful.
Worship of Sūrya (solar forms/Ādityas) in this kṣetra is prescribed as a means to obtain the full promised fruit without doubt.
