कर्णोपवीत्युदग्वक्त्रो दिवसे संध्ययोरपि । विण्मूत्रे विसृजेन्मौनी निशायां दक्षिणामुखः
karṇopavītyudagvaktro divase saṃdhyayorapi | viṇmūtre visṛjenmaunī niśāyāṃ dakṣiṇāmukhaḥ
Ban ngày—kể cả vào hai thời sandhyā—hãy vắt sợi chỉ thiêng (yajñopavīta) theo lối “qua tai” và quay mặt về hướng bắc; giữ im lặng mà bài tiết đại tiểu tiện. Ban đêm thì quay mặt về hướng nam.
