तदा स कण्वभूपालः स्वकं दूतं समादिशत् कण्व उवाच । गच्छ त्वं पृच्छतां तां क्वागता क्वच गमिष्यसि । प्रेषितस्त्वरितो दूतो गतो नारीसमीपतः
tadā sa kaṇvabhūpālaḥ svakaṃ dūtaṃ samādiśat kaṇva uvāca | gaccha tvaṃ pṛcchatāṃ tāṃ kvāgatā kvaca gamiṣyasi | preṣitastvarito dūto gato nārīsamīpataḥ
Bấy giờ vua Kaṇva truyền lệnh cho sứ giả của mình. Kaṇva nói: “Hãy đi và hỏi nàng: ‘Nàng từ đâu đến, và sẽ đi về đâu?’” Sứ giả vâng mệnh liền vội vã đi và đến gần người nữ ấy.
